Chinese New Year and Surgery!!

Boy oh boy has this past week been a crazy week!

All of Max's appointments went very well last week. We were all so tired by the end of the week, that when Sat. rolled around all we wanted to do was sleep! Sunday however we went to our local FCC's Chinese New Year!!! It was lots of fun, we got to see Carcar (aka Carson) and watch some fun things, and eat some....well... ok food, it wasn't the best this year.

Now on to the pictures!

Here we are watching some of the entertainment. Max LOVED the dancing, music, and the puppet show.

Here is Maggie and Carcar looking cute watching the show.

Chasing each other around!

Now today, was not as much fun as Sunday. Today Max had his surgery. We had to get up at 4am, and be at the hospital at 6am!!!! Yuck!! Max did really well getting up, and dressed. He did really well letting the nurses do all the had to do, and even did well when they gave him some drugs to make him super happy.....

After that, they took him back to surgery. After a few hours they brought him back, and he was SCREAMING, and really upset at the fact he couldn't use his left hand (the one without the weakness). He tried so hard to remove the IV from that hand. The nurse asked if he maybe wanted a slushie. I said, Well sure, can't hurt. When he saw that blue slushie, it was like a magic. He stopped right away, and opened wide!

He is very sore, and is on some medication to try and help. He slept well, and ate well this afternoon, but I have a feeling he is going to be in a great deal more pain tomorrow. He is already starting to bruise, and swell. Poor guy. BUT... he did get a package to day from Nana Cara, that is sure to make him feel better. Its filled with Valentines day cookies, and candy!

So glad the surgery is over and all went well! You just can't beat a nurse with a slushie...I used to do the same thing for my post-op kids when I worked on the floor.

Hopefully the swelling and bruising will resolve quickly and he'll be back to his active self before too long!
