One month with Max

Well, one month ago today we got Max. WOW, a whole month. Weird. He has done so well, way beyond anything I could have dreamed. The first few days I had to wake up before him to take a shower, because once he was awake, he wanted to be held by me and me alone. One month later, and I went grocery shopping on my own tonight and Dad did the night time bath/bed thing, and he was fine. The first few weeks he wouldn't touch much meat at all, today, he had some beef at the mexican resturant (he LOVES spicy food), and fish sticks at dinner.

Today we went and got blood drawn for some tests. I was expecting the worst of course, screaming, having to hold him down, etc. But he surprised us once again. He didn't even flinch, didn't make a sound, didn't even act like he cared. It was amazing. We have been talking about it all day, how crazy that was. We want to make sure to tell the neurosurgen next Friday about it, just in case it isn't just the fact he has a high threshold for pain. We don't think there is anything wrong, but just in case. The poor guy has so many Dr's apointments the next few weeks, ENT, Neurosurgen, Urologist, PT,OT,SP, and the family Dr. But he is such a trooper when it comes to all this stuff.

We have been trying to get him off the bottle/formula the past couple of days. We used his sippy cup for formula yesterday, and he was OK with it, he didn't drink it all, but didn't seem to mind it to much. So this afternoon we tried nothing for his nap, no bottle or sippy cup, and he went to sleep fine, so we tried that for his bed time, and it didn't work so well. He didn't cry or anything, but he was just restless for about an hour. So we gave in, and gave him his bottle, which was my mistake, cause I was going to get him the sippy cup w/formula, but completly forgot. He was asleep after that within 15mins.

Everything else has been going great. He has been doing some fun things. We even went and looked for bugs this evening under rocks, but because it has been SO dry here (hasn't rained in weeks) we couldn't find one. Oh well, we will try after it rains. Well, here are some pics, they are not from today, but hey, they are cute anyway!!!
